I’ll Be Leaving Soon Music & lyrics by Frances Livings © 2006
1. Suitcase in the hallway / I packed it years ago
but no destination / no vision and no goal
I’ve transited my life / but only in my mind
journeys without travelling / so many million times
2. Feeling like a photograph / an image, just a still
an instance that was captured / and frozen in it’s will
My life has gathered dust / as I sit here in the dark
entangled in a cobweb / cradled by a question mark
But now I know – I‘ll be leaving soon
I am almost on my way
The present will be past
and I’ll be moving fast
I’ll be moving on – at last!
3. Habits seem to stick to me / like gum under my sole
memories cling like ivy / my mind’s on cruise control
now everything’s in motion / cause nothing stays the same
flowing like a river / I’m moving on again
‘Cause now I know – I‘ll be leaving soon
I am almost on my way
The present will be past
and I’ll be moving fast
I’ll be moving on – at last!
But now I know – I‘ll be leaving soon
I am almost on my way
The present will be past
and I’ll be moving fast
I’ll be moving on – at last!
The present will be past
and I’ll be moving fast,
I’ll be moving on at last!
