🌿 Apart from always marvelling at pretty things from nature, I've been thinking about "motivation": about creating good habits, and finishing projects and just came across this paragraph I thought I'd share with you. I wonder whether the following rings true with any of you...

"for most of us—most of the time—the reasons we have trouble sticking to goals and commitments is psychological in the sense that it’s some combination of thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that derail us.

For example:

🌿 You make it for two months working out at the gym consistently.
🌿 But then you start having thoughts that you’re not losing weight [building muscle etc] as fast as you should be.
🌿 Pretty soon you’re comparing yourself to other regulars at the gym—all of whom seem to be making more progress than you.
🌿 Eventually, you start missing workouts because you increasingly don’t feel motivated and even a bit ashamed..."

Anton Hellinger (1925–2019), known as Bert Hellinger, was a German psychotherapist associated with a therapeutic method best known as Family Constellations and Systemic Constellations.

The painting is by the contemporary American artist Marlyn Daggett, "Be The Black Sheep, Not The Scapegoat" (Oil on Canvas, w 72 x h 96 inches).

☂ This year has been challenging. Especially when under stress it can be hard to let go of the chores and focus on the "right" things for oneself. For me it's practicing piano and writing songs, which was the very thing I did all weekend! YAY!
