Glory Me

Glory Me (a Christmas Carol)

Music & lyrics Frances Livings, music Greg Porée © 2011

Moonlights ago, he was born into our world
cherished by the angel’s songs of glory

Kings and shepherds saw His star,
shining bright and shining far
casting light on dark memento moris
(it’s been told to us in the Christmas story)

When anger rules the world,
hopelessness takes people’s soul
rambling through their veins like poison ivy

Oh, but grace and kindness found its way,
on this special Christmas day
goodness was reclaimed – still shining brightly

Glory me, glory me
Glory him with compassion
Glory me, glory me
Glory him in procession

The essence of the Christmas story,
is that we may feel the glory
for ourselves, for man- and womankind

Those with faith in a star that rose
were led to the path the angels showed
they followed with their hearts and listened closely:

Sounds sweet and sublime,
a triumph over space and time –
Hear the angel’s songs of pride and glory!

Grace and kindness found its way,
on this special Christmas day
goodness was reclaimed – still shining brightly

Glory me, glory me
Glory him, with compassion
Glory me, glory me
Glory him, in procession
